Memorex 8595

Do you own an mp3 player? I love these little marvels of technology, especially the Memorex 8595 mp3 player pictured at the left of this page. As physically small as they are, they pack a lot of features and power in such a tiny package! To date I have purchased about five players. They are incredibly convenient for carrying hours of audio around in your pocket, and using a decent pair of ear buds / phones, they produce excellent sound! My latest mp3 player purchase was the Memorex 8595 – 4GB – MP3 Player – Black in color. It has a 1.5 inch color OLED display with color and brightness controls.  I frequently listen to “podcasts” that are anywhere from 30 minutes to one hour in length. One thing I found annoying on earlier mp3 players I owned, was the slow speed of the fast forward and rewind functions which crept along at about twice the play speed, way too slow. The Memorex 8595 however, appears to fast forward and rewind at roughly 10x’s the play speed, much better! It’s very tedious on older players to fast forward or rewind on 30 or 60 minute podcasts searching for something at only twice the play speed, so the Memorex 8595 excels for me in this department! Oh, and one HUGELY IMPORTANT FEATURE that I like about the Memorex 8595, is that if you pause the player and it times out and power saves / shuts itself off and or you turn it off with the off button, it keeps in memory the location of exactly where the audio file stopped playing so that when you turn the player back on, it begins playing from exactly where you paused the audio file, that is a feature well worth having and in past experience, not all players had this feature.  The Memorex 8595 also comes with a nice “Sport Arm Strap” that you put the player in and strap it around your arm, I rarely use it but it’s a nice accessory especially if you exercise or jog while listening. This model also has a digital FM receiver built in, equalizer with presets and the rechargeable battery powers the unit for roughly 14 hours.

To sum up, I’ve been totally pleased with this player, can’t think of any negatives about the unit, the price was good (think I paid $59.00 for mine) the features were just what I needed and then some, and I totally liked the sleek design. Oh and I almost forgot it’s USB 2.0 so transfers of files move nicely. Well, time to go download some podcasts to take along at my daily grind, … thanks for reading!  – Jeff
